Ristorante Accademia is located in central Florence, right in Piazza San Marco, one of the most famous crossroads in the city, and home to universities, grand buildings, and Michelangelo's David, undoubtedly one of the world's most important statues.

Twenty years ago, brothers Aldo and Gianni Iacovitti took over the running of the restaurant and transformed it into an environment full of life and rich flavors. The union between traditional flavors from Abruzzo and the unique flavors of the Tuscan kitchen, has resulted in an outstanding culinary fusion. For example, the now-famous pasta alla chitarra was available to guests of the restaurant long before it became a common addition to restaurant menus all over Florence.

Through the years, we catered to local guests as well as far-away travelers, offering them opportunities to sample our traditional and innovative dishes. Some of our specialties have even received numerous mentions and accolades in various gastronomic magazines. Examples include: le lasagnette di gran saraceno al ragĀ di agnello e mandorle tostatee, lo strudel di funghi alla salsa di Parmigiano, la rollata di coniglio al lardo di colonnata e ripieno di scamorza e olive, and il timballo di melanzane, all made using meat, fish, and produce of the highest standards.

Our motto is: "Don't make what you know, but make what you know well."
